The Little Cherub Safety Badge System

With increased concerns both locally and nationally regarding the security of our children, we at Insight have created a solution to ensure that each nursery child will remain safely within their nursery.

In 2000, we were approached by a nursery that was looking for an extra measure of security to prevent their children from wandering out of the nursery grounds. Even with the best will in the world it is a physical impossibility to be watching 100% of the children in your nursery 100% of the time.

We at Insight developed a measure to protect the children even further, giving peace of mind to their parents and allowing staff to spend their time more constructively instead of the keeping a watchful eye on their whereabouts. Additionally, the system allows the nurseries to be more aware of someone picking up a child from a nursery who shouldn’t.

The product is loosely based on the tried and tested anti-theft tagging systems, of which you will have been more aware of in the retail environment. The equipment consists of a pair of alarming radio-frequency pedestals, normally positioned at your doorway (entrance/exit) that would then be activated if and when a child with a security badge tries to pass through. The security badges are attached to each child’s clothing and can only be properly removed by using the recognised detacher.

Our new “Little Cherub Security Badge” system is already being used successfully in schools, nurseries, soft play areas and supermarket crèches throughout the UK.
